Lawrence “Larry” Ken Mori passed away on April 27, 2022 in Clearwater, FL at age 73. Larry was born on October 31, 1948 to Arthur K. Mori and Sachiko Ishiguro Mori in New Haven, CT. The Mori family moved to Tokyo, Japan shortly after Larry’s birth and he always had very strong ties to Japan, especially to his many relatives and American School In Japan classmates with whom he grew up and maintained connections throughout his adult life. After graduating from high school in Japan, Larry lived in Michigan, New York and Florida where he finally settled. He had an undergraduate degree in clinical psychology and an MSW. He was a professional bridge player, was a Grand Life Master and won numerous national (5 NABCs) and regional tournaments, and had bridge clients in Japan where he flew for work every year, as he was bilingual. Larry fought with various medical issues in his last five years with determination but succumbed to his toughest opponent which was kidney disease. The family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care Larry received from Dr Raymond Hansen for many years as a personal friend and physician. There will be no service. Donations in Larry’s honor can be made to the National Kidney Association www.kidney.org, the ACBL Educational Foundation www.acbleducationalfoundation.org, or charity of your choice.
