January 14, 1960 - January 5, 2021
Obituaries are written to sum up a person's existence on this earth. But we know that a handful of sentences can barely give justice to the core being of who my Father was, is, and will continue to be. On Tuesday, January 5th, 2021, my beautiful Papa passed away from congestive heart failure. As I type such a harsh reality about my Father's physical body being gone, I do my best to put into perspective the strength of such a wonderful man. For the last twenty-seven years, I have had the most magnificent honor of being loved by the best Father I could have ever asked God for. Being John Menna's daughter has been the brightest gift of all. He has instilled the most fundamental values of strong work ethic, family loyalty, limitless love, unwavering self-discipline, and non-negotiable honor in being your word. My Papa commanded attention in every room he walked into. Not because of his success but because of his genuity and leadership. My Father always said, "I always cheer on the underdog, papa" - I can now understand what he means. Dropping out of 9th grade at Clearwater Highschool, my Father continued to diligently build his empire that spanned across Tampa Bay. Along the way, he not only created a corporation, provided for his family, made a career out of his hobby, but he brought a brotherhood to his job site. As my Father's only daughter, I will carry on his legacy and continue to honor him by being honest, loyal, loving, and driven in my each and every day. My Papa will continue to be celebrated on this earth by his mother / my Nonna Rosalia, my Mother / my Father's true love, my Zio Tony / my Father's big Brother, my Zio Mario / my Father's little Brother, his beautiful Nieces (Lia, Amanda, Alessia, and Giulia ), his handsome Nephew's (Anthony and Alex) and his God-daughter (Jessica DiGiovanni) to name just a few. Please join us, virtually, for my Daddy's funeral and 61st birthday on January 14th, 2021, at Curlew Hills. In lieu of flowers, feel free to donate to The Heart Foundation (https://theheartfoundation.org/contact-us/) because Daddy died of congestive heart failure and/or Brain Injury Association of America (https://www.biausa.org/support/donate-your-way) due to the brain damage my Father went through the last 12 years. Thank you for loving my Father and appreciating the wonderfully humble and kind man he was, is, and will always continue to be.
