John F. Maguire

July 15, 1944 - March 2, 2022

John F. Maguire, 77, resident of Palm Harbor, Florida by way of Raynham, MA passed away on March 2, 2022 with his wife Marie by his side. John was born in Macon, GA to John and Eloise (McDonough) Maguire who resided in Millis, MA. John graduated from Millis High School in 1963 and served in the US Air Force from 1964-1968. During the Vietnam War he was an air traffic controller. John later graduated from Stonehill College. He retired from the Massachusetts Department of Corrections and was a member of the American Legion in Safety Harbor, FL. He was also a lifetime member of the Taunton, MA Elks. John is survived by his wife, Marie Maguire (Renna); his son, Sean Maguire and his wife Amy; Daughter in law, Eileen Maguire; Grandchildren, Grady and Ella Maguire of Tampa, FL and Nora and Lennon Maguire of Stoughton, MA. He was preceded in death by his son, Brendan Maguire. He also leaves behind several in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and an uncle. John was a devoted father and grandfather. He was lovingly known as “Pepe” by close family and friends. He loved to golf and spend time with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on April 11, 2022 at Curlew Hills, 1750 Curlew Rd. Palm Harbor, FL 34683. Doors will open at 11AM. John’s final resting place will be in Bourne, MA at the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
