Joan Martell

June 10, 1936 - March 6, 2022

Joan Martell, 85, went to be with THE Lord, on Sunday March 6, 2022. She was surrounded by her two children. Joan was born on June 10, 1936, to Andrew and Nellie Trombino in New York City, where she graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1954. Joan was a hard worker and worked for over 60 years before retiring at the age of 81. Joan was a devoted mother and grandmother, loyal friend and kind spirit. She was selfless and always put others first. Joan loved bargain shopping with others. She enjoyed watching "scary" thriller movies even though they often frightened her family members. She loved spending time with her grandchildren: going to their sporting events, shopping with them and watching them grow into adults. Joan loved playing the one-arm bandit (slot machines) games either in the casinos or on her iPad. Joan loved the beach and enjoyed vacationing with family and friends along the Florida coastline. Joan loved many things! Mostly, she loved her family in such a way that each one of them knew without a doubt that they were loved. She always said "I Love You" at every chance and loved to hold hands. She is survived by two children, Denise (Tom) Latanision, and Kevin (Sandy Olsen) Purcell: grandchildren, Leanna and Alyssa Latanision, as well as numerous extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Trombino.
