Harriette Wilda Miller Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Palm Harbor, Fl.- Harriette Wilda Miller entered her heavenly home, safe in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on July 27, 2022, at the blessed age of 100. Born March 11, 1922, in Follansbee, W.V., she was the daughter of John Foresha and Lydia (Lotzgeselle) Foresha. She graduated from Follansbee High School in 1940. Harriette distinguished herself as the class valedictorian and was awarded a full-ride scholarship to Steubenville Business College before starting her career in banking after graduation. Harriette met her husband, Kenneth E. Miller, through a social club for tall people called Tip Toppers of Pittsburgh, Pa. In 1948 as Miss Pittsburgh, she represented the Tip Topper club in a beauty pageant that was held in Chicago, IL., where she placed third. Harriette married Ken on October 22, 1949, and moved to Beaver Falls, Pa., where she continued her banking career for over 25 years. In the fall of 1973, Ken became a minister at Assembly of God church in East Palestine, Ohio. Harriette assisted her husband in many capacities at the church. Harriette was a positive, fun-loving, caring, kind woman with a zest for life. She set many goals throughout her life, not the least of which was to become a centenarian. Her friends and family were thrilled and amazed when she accomplished this goal this past March. She was an avid reader, was a poet, loved letter writing, traveling, volunteering at church and schools, watching her soap operas, and playing Rummy with the family. Harriette and Ken retired to Palm Harbor, Fl. in 1985 to be closer to her family. She enjoyed playing an active part in her grandchildren's lives. Harriette was blessed to watch her three grandchildren grow to adulthood. Harried was preceded in death by her husband Ken in 2001. She will be greatly missed by her son John W.S. Miller (Springhill, Fl.), daughter Karen E. (David) Heveran, grandchildren Tyler Heveran (Clearwater, FL.), and twins Jennifer Heveran (Jacksonville, Fl.), and Megan Heveran (Boston, MA.) Harriette will be greatly missed by family and friends. She will leave many cherished memories for all that played a part in her life.
