Florence McGuff Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Florence McGuff, a 50 year resident of Oldsmar, FL passed away peacefully on July 26, 2022. Flo was born in Chicago, IL attended J. S. Morton High School and Gregg Business College. She married the love of her life, Robert McGuff and became a mother to Dale and Scott. She was a homemaker early in her marriage and then put her business college education to work when she moved to Florida. Most notably with AC Nielsen in Dunedin, FL for many years. Florence is survived by her sons Dale McGuff and Scott McGuff, daughters-in-law Debra and Micheline; granddaughter Shannon Wilson and great grandson Dylan Wilson. She was predeceased by her husband Robert, her parents William and Gertrude Svolba and her brother William “Billy” Svolba. She was an avid golfer and loved the move to Oldsmar, FL in 1972 to play at the Harbor Palms Golf Course. It was there that Florence and Robert found friendship with so many wonderful neighbors and fellow golfers. She learned to paint from one of those friends and painting became a loved hobby. She was an avid reader and especially loved murder mystery’s and detective stories. Florence excelled at puzzles. From Sudoku to The NY Times crossword she never met a puzzle she didn’t enjoy conquering. As she got older the Hallmark movie channel kept her company and Christmas movies were her favorites. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Garden Pavilion at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens 1750 Curlew Road Palm Harbor, FL 34683 on Friday August 5, at 11:00 AM.
