December 30, 1926 - April 30, 2021
Faye Bozeman Carr, 94, of Dunedin, died peacefully of natural causes at her home on April 30, 2021. She was welcomed into heaven by her Savior and then her beloved husband of 65 years, Russell L. Carr and a host of family and friends. She is survived by her children, Kitty Carr Carpenter, Palm Harbor; Rodney M. Carr and wife, Kathy, Dunedin; and Blythe Carr Zeigler and husband, David of Palm Harbor; plus much adored grandchildren, great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Faye spent her life making people feel loved like family as was evident in the lives of cherished nieces, nephews and friends. This was particularly evident in her love for Margo and Mike Daugaard and family of Fort Collins, Co, whom she happily claimed as her own. A Florida native, Faye was born in Winter Haven, to the late Mack and Myrtle Bozeman, she grew up in Davenport and Haines City. Graduated from Haines City High School in 1945, and then attended Business College for a few months in Gainesville. Faye and Russ met in Haines City shortly after WWII and were married after a three month courtship in 1946. She and Russ spent the majority of their married lives in St. Petersburg and Dunedin. Faye was a fabulous cook and hostess, a expert seamstress and talented artist. Her two big brothers taught her to hunt and fish and she was really good at both. She loved visiting with friends and family and doing things for others. Her grandbabies and those of friends were her greatest treasure. Over the years, Faye was a leader in numerous Parent Teacher Associations during the children's school years. She also organized and directed the St. Petersburg Civitan Club's Summer Camp program for underprivileged children for two years. She was a youth leader for Pasadena Community Church's Methodist Youth Fellowship, in St. Pete, and at St. Paul UMC, Largo. She also served as a small group leader at the Warren Willis United Methodist Youth Camp in Leesburg for many summers. For over 55 years, she was a faithful, supportive and active member of Palm Harbor United Methodist Church. Her many, many, friends and her devoted family can attest to her warm, caring, generous and fun-loving personality that brightened lives everywhere. She was a shinning example of Christ's love in action. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, at Palm Harbor UMC, 1551 Belcher Road, Palm Harbor, Fl 34683. Because of Covid, masks and social distancing are required and there will not be a reception at church. In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Palm Harbor UMC funds for the Handbell Choir, Shining Lights (Special Needs Group), or Pack-a-Sack; or for The Hospice Foundation of the Florida Suncoast.
