Emil G. Pratesi

May 6, 1947 - March 26, 2022

Emil George Pratesi was born on May 6th 1947 in Freeport, New York. He passed away on March 26th 2022 at the age of 74. Emil grew up in Bellmore, New York. He moved to Florida in 1969 and was a resident of Dunedin. He received his B.A. from Hofstra University in 1969 and was the first class inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society. He attended Florida State University Law school. He graduated with high honors with his Juris Doctorate in 1972 and went on to become a partner with the firm Richards, Gilkey, et. al. PA in Clearwater, Florida where he practiced law for 47 years. His practice included general real estate, corporate, condominium, commercial real estate and commercial lending law. He retired in 2019. He was named often included in Best Lawyers, 2017 Real Estate Law and in 2017 was recognized as “Lawyer of the Year” in St. Petersburg. He is past director and officer of the West Pasco Chapter of The American Cancer Society as well as past Director of the Pasco Hernando Community College Activities Association. He previously served as an advisory board member to several local financial institutions. He was a member of the Clearwater Bar Association, American Bar Association and the Florida Bar. He was a member of the Belleair Country Club and was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed traveling, music, and spending time with his family. He was happily married to his wife and best friend Diane for 49 years. He is survived by his wife Diane Pratesi; their children, Alicia Tenn & husband Neil of Tampa and Erika Pratesi of Clearwater; his grandchildren, Vanessa Dees, Christina Tenn and Justin Tenn; his brother Roger Pratesi & wife Gwen of Amelia Island as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased in death by his parents Emil Pratesi and Reba Rush Pratesi. Services to be held on April 3rd at 2pm at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens, Palm Harbor, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Metropolitan Ministries of Tampa.
