She was a talented artist at an early age, as well as a straight-A student. Eleanor met the love of her life, William T. Norris at a roller skating rink. They married on June 7, 1947, and had two children. She was the devoted mother of sons, Bill and Cliff. She was a kind and caring soul who loved to help others and put her family first. Eleanor sacrificed to make sure her children had a good life. Although she was mild mannered, she always found the strength to fight for her family’s wellbeing. Eleanor was a wonderful cook and a great seamstress. In addition to being a homemaker, she also worked as a school aid, mentoring children who were struggling in class which allowed them to excel. She also worked as an office assistant and manager for a few small businesses. On the side, she additionally aided with fundraisers for many civic groups. After moving to Palm Harbor, FL in 1988, Eleanor assisted numerous Highland Lakes’ clubs along with her husband. She loved to dance and travel with her only love. She also enjoyed playing cards and having lunch dates with her friends. She is survived by her sons, Bill and Cliff, three grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. She was outlasted by her husband of 73 years by just 36 hours. Eleanor’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Suncoast Hospice for their compassionate care right to the end. A memorial and celebration of life ceremony will be announced at a later date. For those who wish to remember Eleanor, in lieu of flowers, donations in her name would be gratefully received by Suncoast Hospice.
