Diane Flaherty Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Diane Flaherty was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 27, 1951. In grade school, she met the love of her life, James Flaherty, and was engaged at the Senior Prom and later married for over 51 phenomenal years. She graduated from Gage Park High School in 1969 where she was an active participant and leader in multiple school organizations including volunteering as a candy striper. During high school, Diane also had a painting displayed for 2 years in the Chicago Art Institute. She continued to utilize her artistic talents to entertain her grandchildren by making realistic Play-Doh shaped figurines and animals. Additionally, she enjoyed crocheting hats, scarfs, blankets, potholders and scrubbies and shared them with family and friends. Diane based her life on her strong faith in God and love and dedication to her family and everyone who crossed her path. She was an avid prayer warrior, and her prayers were coveted by so many. She was always there for anyone in need and made everyone feel like they were the most important person in the world. Diane Flaherty was called to the Lord on June 16, 2022, and reunited in heavenly rest with her parents, Anthony and Mildred Katsibubas and her sister, Mary (Nick) and brother, Thomas (Barbara). She is survived by her siblings John (April), Barbara, Pete (Gail). Diane was survived by her husband, James Flaherty and her children Shelly (Sam), Louri (James), Kristy (Joe), Jim (Melissa) and Natalie (Ryan) as well her eight grandchildren: Brooke, Bryce, Colleen, Summer, Chase, Rhys, Lydia and Olivia as well as countless cousins, nieces and nephews. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to PHA (Pulmonary Hypertension) @ phassociation.org in Diane Flaherty’s name. Visitation and a Service will be held on June 23, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with lunch to follow in the Reflections Room at the funeral home, Curlew Hills Funeral Home, 1750 Curlew Rd., Palm Harbor, FL 34683.
