SFC Jeremy Johnson, US Army, Ret
Six Combat Tours • Purple Heart Recipient

Jeremy Johnson, US Army, Sergeant First Class (SFC) Retired (ret). enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at the tender age of 17. He spent several years in the Corps before getting out for a short period and enlisting in the Army for the chance to continue serving America through an overseas tour.

SFC Johnson was injured in Afghanistan on his 6th CombatTour. While serving as a Platoon Sergeant with Sapper Company Third Brigade Combat Team, Tenth Mountain Division Light Infantry stationed out of Fort Drum NY, his vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb in the “Triangle of Death” Tangi Valley, Wardak Province of Afghanistan. He was medically evacuated and hospitalized for several months.

For his actions and bravery throughout his career, he was awarded the Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars and several other Military Medals & Honors prior to being medically retired in 2017 due to injuries sustained in Combat after 23 years of service.

SFC Johnson presently suffers from Traumatic Brain Injury, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and many other Poly-Trauma issues. With the help of his full-time caregiver (spouse) he tries to stay active both physically and mentally though veteran related activities where he can connect with other war veterans and give back to his community.

Jeremy Johnson continues his service today as the Current Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 87 in Tampa, Florida.

He now permanently resides in Florida with his spouse of 21 years, Sherry Johnson and their two sons, Jostyn 18 and Slatyn 14.
