He was born in Bethesda, Maryland and moved here in 1974 from Portland, Maine. He was a member of Palm Harbor Community Church. Joseph retired from the Dunedin Fire Department as a Lieutenant after 30 years of service. He was also a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran. Joseph is survived by his Loving Wife of 26 years: Patricia Ruegg Barbara, Son Michael Barbara & Daughter Brittany Barbara & Mother Wilma Barbara all of Palm Harbor, Florida, Sisters June Diller of Bridgewater, New Jersey, Janet Wortz of New Port Richey, Florida and Brother Jim Barbara of Gainesville, Florida. There will be a Pinic following the services at Highlander Park in Dunedin across from Fire Station 61 in Joe's honor and everyone is invited to join the family.
