Name: George Winsor Date: August 26th, 1918 - November 12th, 2009 Obituary: George F. Winsor passed away at the Baycare Alliant Hospital in Dunedin, FL on Thursday, November 12, 2009. He was 91 years of age. George was born in Chelsea, MA on August 26, 1918 to the late Mary and Edward Winsor. Mr. Winsor was raised in Everett, MA, graduated from Everett High School, and attended Boston University. He served his country proudly in World War II in the U.S. Air Force, where he was part of the cadet training program. After his discharge from the armed forces, George returned to his employment at John Hancock, where he worked as an insurance underwriter. He resided as a Melrose resident for many years and then enjoyed retired life at his winter home in Briar Creek, Safety Harbor, FL and most recently Horizon Bay, Clearwater, FL, while he always enjoyed summers at Diamond View, in Gilford, NH. George was the husband of the late Florence (McLean) Winsor. George was the caring brother of Frank Winsor and his wife Mary; sister Marjorie Hunt of Farmington, NH and the late John Winsor, Edward Winsor, Florence Homer and Katherine (Kay) Peddle. He is also survived by many adoring nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and nephews and good friends.
